Deepanwita Chattopadhyay, CEO of IKP Knowledge Park, has been responsible for developing the first technology park for biotech sciences in India and she will present opportunities and pitfalls by entering the Indian market. She will also provide first-hand information about model of sustainable innovation and clustering of companies and knowledge institutions, based on the Public-Private Partnership model in their region.

Associate Professor Luca Iandoli will present a platform for networking, which supports teamwork and distributed decision making in virtual communities and is a product of development and collaboration activities with MIT Center for Collective Intelligence. He also works on the exploration of knowledge management, organizational learning and collaborative technologies and mass collaboration in organizational systems and networks of small firms. He is President-elect for 2011/2012 of the European Council for Small Business and entrepreneurship (ECSB).

Michelle E. Messina is CEO of the global direction and strategy consulting firm, Explora International LLC. The company provides revenue-focused consulting services to companies expanding globally and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and strategy expertise to innovation ecosystems worldwide.

Michelle has worked with hundreds of emerging product and service companies optimizing their expansion success and traction in new markets. Prior to her consulting practice, she was a VP Sales, VP Marketing, Business Development Director, and General Manager in public and privately-held technology companies. She leverages this revenue and operational background when working with early stage companies on their growth and expansion strategies.

Working with innovation ecosystems around the world, Michelle has been actively involved with foreign direct investment projects, country branding, economic development and job creation programs and connecting partners for trade and investment purposes. Explora International hosts Professional Study Tours designed to showcase the Silicon Valley ecosystem and identify how to leverage its best practices for sustainable, vibrant clusters and ecosystems around the world.

Michelle has conducted training workshops in dozens of countries with emphasis on improving readiness for growth and expansion and is a speaker and trainer on the topics of business acceleration, market preparedness, innovation, technology commercialization, women’s entrepreneurship and market development. She is also part of the U.S. Department of State program Pathways to Prosperity in the Americas for Women Entrepreneurs focused on economic empowerment and public-private partnerships for SME growth. Michelle has been featured in television and radio interviews and has spoken at conferences worldwide. Based in Silicon Valley, Michelle is multilingual and a published photographer and author.
