 IRP Institute for Entrepreneurship Research


"Our own entrepreneurial activity, teaching and research work at the Faculty of Business and Economics Maribor made us aware of numerous concepts, models and good practices of entrepreneurship promotion. The IRP Institute was established out of the wish to build mechanisms for the transfer of innovation from the university to the entrepreneurial practice.

In cooperation with the university, enterprises, state, the local community and individuals with a sympathetic ear and a clear vision, we succeeded in establishing a university-entrepreneurial incubator Tovarna podjemov, which supports entrepreneurial groups with innovative entrepreneurial ideas and helps them in their efforts to become successful companies.

The organisation of the PODIM conference represents a small stone in a mosaic of our efforts to give professionals from all over the world a special treat here in Maribor. In this way we can give our contribution to the building of a friendly and effective entrepreneurial and innovative environment."

 The mission of the JAPTI is to raise the level of the entrepreneurial culture and to put in place an efficient system of measures designed to improve competitiveness, encourage innovativeness, assist Slovenian companies in entering foreign markets, expanding the network of representative offices of the Slovenian economy abroad, and setting up an administrative and business environment perceived as friendly to foreign investments.
